HEMS Service (LZS) has become an integral part of the medical rescue services supplied by the government and works as an important part of the integrated rescue system (IZS) of the Czech Republic. It has been the primary programme of the company, DSA, since 1993.
In the Czech Republic, the HEMS Service is integrated into ten rescue service facilities: Praha, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Jihlava, Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava, Hradec Králové, Liberec and Ústí nad  Labem. The operating radius of an individual HEMS base is approx. 70 km and, all together, they cover the entire country. Certain bases are connected with a network of specialized hospital medical emergency centres.

HEMS Service supplies prompt rescue facilities with physicians and paramedics, the careful transport of patients in critical, life threatening statuses from traffic accidents, crashes, and other extraordinary situations and emergencies. DSA has top-quality technical air equipment designated for HEMS operation and it is staffed by specially trained aviation personnel. The company's pilots complete 1 700 flying hours a year on average to save human lives, which is about 4300 rescue operations.
DSA currently operates their helicopters from six HEMS bases in the Czech Republic - Brno, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Jihlava, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem.
